Lmfao, I love people like this. I used to be one of them, actually. Maybe this person is a super genius, but most people in grade eight read for just story. I hope this person doesn’t go through life thinking he/she never needs to read Anna Karenina again because he/she has already read it. There are complex issues of class and society at play in the novel, and a lot of it requires a good understanding of Russian history and culture. There’s no way a 13 year old picks up on all of that.
